Welcome to the Port Hills Athletic Club
Port Hills is one of the largest athletics clubs in Canterbury with well over 300 members catering to all ages, all abilities and all disciplines. We have a proud history stretching back more than forty years and retain the vitality that allows us to achieve many top results in all areas and just as importantly to provide our members with maximum enjoyment from their sport. The Club has excellent track and field facilities at Hansen Park and shared facilities at Hillmorton High School. We also have one of Christchurch´s best clubhouse facilities at Hansen Park which serves as the centre for many of our activities. And as a well established club we are also able to provide significant support to our members who are selected to represent regional and national teams.
Our Track and Field section caters for all disciplines over the summer months with coaching available in all the disciplines both for children and adults. Our members are active in Athletics Canterbury interclub right through to Athletics New Zealand National meetings and we run Monday and Tuesday evening meetings for children. Our Cross-Country and Road section is focussed on the winter season but is active right through the year. We provide coaching for both adult and children´s groups and take an active part in cross-country and road relays. Besides an extensive Club programme our members take part in all the Athletics Canterbury events as well as other major events such as the SBS Marathon/Half and the Buller Marathon/Half.
From the complete beginner to national representatives we cater for everyone who is keen to enjoy the competition and camaraderie of athletics. Please have a look at the detailed information available about our Club on this website and contact us for any further information you require.
